Across the Floor School of Dance & Gymnastics opened in 1996 from a dream that became reality. Across the Floor was founded on more than just a shared love for teaching dance and gymnastics, it is rooted in the strength of a lifelong friendship of over 30 years.

When Miss Sara & Miss Cheryl started Across the Floor, they wanted to share their love for dance and love for life with as many people as possible.  It is not just about creating a well trained dancer, it is about creating a well rounded and well trained individual – ready for whatever or wherever life may take you.  Across the Floor’s philosophy is to provide students of all ages an enjoyable environment to foster personal growth and development through dance and gymnastics.

Across the Floor students have performed extensively throughout the community including for recording artists, The American Cancer Society,  St. Joseph’s Nursing Home, The Elks Club, VFW, St. James Street Fair, Woodbridge Center, as well as Madison Square Garden, Great Adventure, Jersey Gardens, on Good Morning America and many others. 

Last year, Across the Floor was featured in “Spotlight on New Jersey – Spotlighting the Best Businesses and Professionals in the Area” and recently received a Proclamation from the Governor of NJ.   In addition, Across the Floor students have won numerous awards including “Outstanding Performance”, “High Score”, “Best Costuming”, “Best Performance” and “Outstanding Studio”. 

We have amazing programs for the littlest dancer to the professional dancer.  Located in the heart of downtown Woodbridge, Across the Floor is conveniently located for all the surrounding areas.

Meet Our Staff:
Across The Floor brings New York City to New Jersey. We are proud to offer one of the most talented faculty in the state. Our teachers have worked professionally with some of the hottest artists such as Michael Jackson, Marc Anthony, 3LW and many others. Other performance credits include: MTV Music Awards, Knicks City Dancers, Broadway Tours, The Rockettes. They are able to teach the latest style as well as bring the discipline of the oldest techniques to your child.
